As we enter our 40th year, let's look back at Sterile Processing in the 1970's or earlier. Remember when we sterilized basins, bedpans, urinals, surgical gowns, sheets, powdered surgical gloves, did in-house gas sterilization (EtO), remember the Montreal Protocol? Technology has changed drastically since then. The Michigan Society for Healthcare Central Service Professional have been on the fore front of these and many changes in our profession and we will continue to advocate for Sterile Processing Professionals in the state of Michigan.
I would like to thank the membership for their support of this society and choosing me to lead MSHCSP for a second time. I'm truly blessed and humbled to lead. The Board of Directors are hard at work putting together a Great 40th celebration in May in Muskegon! I encourage you to mark your calendars the dates May 17-19. We will be bring in several national and internationally known speakers for this special conference. We hope this conference will be the largest in our history so you want to register as soon as you receive the brochure, which should be out in early 2017. Hope to see you in Muskegon in May.
